About CSAP

The Community Substance Abuse Prevention Program (CSAP) consists of individuals and community agencies working together as coalitions in Coos County and Northern Grafton County to develop and implement substance abuse and tobacco use prevention activities. . Funded by the Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Services Regional Prevention Network (RPN) Grant; and by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Drug Free Communities Support Program Grant and the Sober Truth in Preventing Underage Drinking (STOP) Act.

Activities include:

  • Tobacco prevention programs for youth;
  • Parent education through Project Monitor initiatives and RPN initiatives;
  • Support for Student Assistance Programs in local schools;
  • Assistance to schools in substance abuse prevention efforts; and
  • Alternatives for youth through social norms campaigns and Youth Leadership Project opportunities.
